Greetings From Wickatunk!
Sorry we haven't checked-in in a while..believe it or not its been Fast Times at Collier High lately! We've been busy busy bee's dealing with the daily and ever present drama at Collier. But don't let our busy work fool you! it hasn't been all work and no play..in fact its been more than fun. Here's a bit of what we've been up to:
OCTOBER saw us taking part in the annual Kateri Haunted Night Hike where we first helped carve over 300 pumpkins that would light the trail of the hike. We also became characters that made the story of Irish Jack.
HALLOWEEN is kind of a big deal at Collier (in all of New Jersey for that matter!), hence we made sure to take part of the festivities all around us. We pranced around the school as Fairies for the High School Halloween show. We made hot cocoa and watched scary movies in our scary mansion. We screamed our lungs out at a Haunted Hayride...all and all a great Halloweend (and Mariannes very first halloween dressing up!)

At SCHOOL we've really dived into new duties and responsibilities:
DIANA continues to teach (and learn) from her Spanish classes. She enjoyed an awesome sugar skull making activity for Dia de los Muertos with her classes. She also had her very first Parent-Teacher Night where she got great feedback from both parents and students alike.
MARIANNE always has a handful with the Drama kids as well as her own gym classes. She was a main force behind a successful production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that the students performed for a children's theater.
DIANE is still enjoying her work with the choir kids as well as running around with kids in gym. She's also one of the yearbooks strongest supporters running Fundraisers and selling mousepads for the yearbook.
NICOLE is a favorite in her pottery class and she's taking on important duites in the main office. She was also a big sport and volunteered her face to be made up as the Queen of Hearts for a project that the Special Effects Makeup class did.

NOVEMBER also brought the always popular ASAH conference in Atlantic City. ASAH is a non-profit organization that serves private special education schools (like Collier) and agencies. The weekend of the conference we had the chance not only to spend quality time with our wonderful staff but also to interact with proffesional in the special education field and learn many things that will help us in our journey at Collier.
